Tomatoes should be the hero of the kitchen during summer, buy them in bulk and eat them for every meal. Tomatoes every which way - throw them in salads, make sauces or soup, roast them, char them or simply have them on toast with butter and salt and pepper.

The trick to having better tasting tomatoes is to let them ripen to perfection on the bench top. Once they're ripe you can pop in the fridge to make them last for a few more days.
