Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C Fan.

Line an 8 x 8 inch (20 x 20 cm) baking pan with baking paper or grease with .

Stir in the melted and slightly cooled until fully combined.

Gently fold the and mixture into the wet batter until just combined. Do not overmix.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 15–20 minutes.

The brownies are ready when they start to come away from the sides of the pan and a fork or toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.

Allow to cool completely in the pan, then cut into bites. Sprinkle with icing sugar before serving, if desired.

This is a cakey recipe but you can fold in some white chocolate chips or disks into the batter before baking for extra fudginess.

It’s got a very nice flavour but it was a little more toward the cake end of the brownie spectrum, which matches the photos but is less to my taste.
