This easy satay sauce is a must for any peanut butter-loving toddler! Creamy, nutty, and packed with flavour — it’s perfect for dipping veggies, noodles and of course with satay chicken. Make sure to use unsweetened peanut butter to keep it toddler-friendly and avoid added sugars. Quick to whip up and always a hit at mealtime.

For The Satay Sauce

1 cup smooth peanut butter, unsweetened

2 tbsp rice wine vinegar

2 tbsp low-salt soy sauce

1⁄4 cup coconut milk

1⁄4 cup water

Step 1

To make the satay sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the smooth unsweetened , , , , and and , until smooth. For adults, you may add sambal oelek and a few splashes of if desired. The sauce will keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.

Step 2

Melt in a frypan over medium heat. Add , & cook for 6 minutes, turning, until golden. Add 1/2 cup satay sauce, 1/4 cup & simmer for 1 minute, or until coated.

Step 3

Serve with cooked rice, peas, and extra satay sauce on the side.
