Peanut Butter

Really, once you’ve made your own peanut butter I’d challenge you to ever go back to store-bought stuff. Homemade is just So. Much. Yummier. Pre-roasted and salted peanuts make this very straightforward, but obviously you can roast and salt your own nuts.

Makes 1 x 1L (34 fl oz/ 4 cup).

Method 3

Start cooking
Step 1

Throw 480 g (1 lb 1 oz/3 cups) of the peanuts into the food processor and whiz for a good couple of minutes. It’ll take that long for the nuts to break down and become oily.

Step 2

Add the remaining 160 g / 5½ oz of peanuts and whiz up to your desired chunkiness.

Step 3

Transfer to a 1 litre jar, or a few smaller jars.

Buena Vista Farm's tips

I don’t want to overstate it but this is the best peanut butter you’ll ever eat, which is why I’m suggesting you make a litre jar of it. Just halve the recipe if that feels excessive.
