In a large bowl, combine , , , , , and grated . Add the and mix well to coat. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (overnight is even better to let the flavours develop).

Preheat the grill and brush it with rice bran oil. Add the marinated chicken in batches. Cook until golden brown, approximately 10 - 15 minutes depending on your heat source. Use a thermometer to ensure the internal temperature is 76°C or higher.

Lovely marinade. Easy and tasty, had issues with the marinade burning cause of the sugar content but that always seems to be the way for us. I’ll put it down to user error.

Perfect! We loved the sticky sweet & savoury marinade. Grilling these in the bbq made the perfect charred crust. Will definitely be making it again. We served it with rice and snow peas and topped with chilli oil 🌶️

Had a nice flavour but I think I would leave to marinade overnight or at least longer than 30 mins as the flavour didn’t carry through as much as I thought it would.

Absolutely delicious! Adding it to my list of recipes to repeat. I made the marinade the night before and marinated the chicken for about 24 hours. The flavours worked really well with the Weeknight Snowpeas on this website. Served here with the snow peas and some rice.

Absolutely loved this marinade! So impressed that it could be made out of ingredients I already had. I let the chicken marinate from the afternoon and put it on the bbq in the evening to serve with rice and beans. I wouldn’t usually buy thigh cuts but this was perfect - a brilliant easy dinner to add to the rotation.

This was so yum. Made this with chicken breast instead of thigh and it was still so good. Served it with some glass noodles and veg. Definitely going on my list of recipes to make again.
