Guacamole

Plan

This guacamole is so easy to make at home. Rich in monounsaturated fats and gut-friendly fibre, avocados are always popular with the whole family. The squeeze of lime cuts through the rich avocado to make the dip refreshing and delicious. This is a must with Sweet Corn and Macadamia Fritters, or serve it as a dip with grissini or fresh veggies cut into sticks.

Makes 480g (1 kb 1 oz / 2 cups).

Pam Brook

Pam Brook's tips

For younger babies avocado is rich in fats so a suitable serving of this dish is about 2–3 teaspoons, and you can just serve it on its own. It’s also perfect puréed with Sweet corn and macadamia fritters until smooth.

For older babies keep servings small. For babies ready for finger food, serve as a dip with toast ‘soldiers‘ (finger-sized pieces).

For toddlers serve as for adults, with grissini or toast fingers, if desired.
